SG Post
SG Post creates an ISO file from an APT file, binary or text, using three files that define the post-processor:
- the grammar: the APT syntax used;
- the controller: the controller of the machine tool;
- the macros: special functions required by the controller or wanted by the user.
Applications
- 2, 3, 3+2 and 5-axis milling
- 2-axis and multi-axis turning
- 5-axis laser and waterjet cutting
- 2 and 4-axis wire EDM
- Punching
- 6-axis robots
- Special machines
Flexible
To adapt the ISO file to your needs and to the machine controller, SG Post has an easy interpreted programming language with many editing and search functions. For every APT statement it can apply the standard processing or a macro written by the user, and at any time you can read or change the state variables that define how the post-processor behaves.
Portable
The post-processor is defined by a grammar file, a controller file and a list of macro files, all plain text: it moves from one platform to another unchanged.
Easy maintenance
To fix or improve the post-processor you just edit the text files: no compilation is needed.
Reverse post-processor
SG Post also reads ISO files to generate an APT file or to extract information (tools, feeds, strokes…): for example to renumber blocks, prepare documentation or rewrite APT files for other post-processors.
